Editorial Internship

Responsibilities:

- Assist with research, fact-checking, and gathering information for articles

- Conduct interviews with subjects and transcribe interview recordings

- Contribute ideas for article topics, features, and editorial content

- Write articles, blog posts, or other assigned editorial tasks

- Edit and proofread articles for clarity, grammar, and style

- Collaborate with photographers, designers, and other team members to create visually appealing content

- Assist in the coordination of photo shoots and interviews

- Help manage and update editorial calendars and deadlines

- Support social media efforts by creating engaging content and assisting with content scheduling

- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and potential article ideas

- Perform administrative tasks as needed.


Requirements:

- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field

- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

- Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems

- Knowledge of AP Style or other editorial style guides is a plus

- Prior experience in journalism, writing, or publishing is preferred but not required

Duration and Compensation:

- This is an unpaid internship opportunity.

- Interns are expected to commit to a minimum of 8-15 per week for a duration of [number of months].

- Interns will receive valuable experience, mentoring, and the opportunity to build a portfolio of published work.
